To become attached .o and become a part of rho application of w.lter R. <br />Wittmer to the City of Orono for a toning variance to construct a garage at <br />1420 llaldur Park (load. <br />item 11 <br />I. The property was acquired with the sole purpose of upgrading to make <br />a permanent residence for our family. The dwelling unit has been completed <br />and represents a substantial improvempttt to the property, the neighborhood, <br />and the City of Orono. Tht i-xist ing mlit-d (which would be torn down upon <br />completion (it the KAraga.) to an eyesore and is inadequate for a garage and <br />storage area. <br />1. The dwelling has ni, banem►ent l therefore l would have to rest t+pac- <br />vi•..•where to have adequate storage for a permanent residence. <br />J. The existing shed is right on the property tine, creating aeethatt- <br />cally displeasing site lines. <br />4. Due to the poor soil conditions, i will have to construct the garage <br />on footings x(me four feet below grade and the closer i get to the trees and <br />root systems, the more likely the odds of destroying some. <br />S. Without the setback variance, the garage would he too Close to the <br />dwelling, creating a visual .alghtmare and causing a potentially dangerous <br />fire condition. <br />b. The gas and telephone lines would have to be relocated it Held to <br />the setback requirements. <br />1. There is already an encroachment on my property line with the <br />neighbor's shed. <br />
