Gerhardson, Public Works Director <br />Date: October 27, 1988 <br />Subject: Park Commission Survey <br />In June of 1988, the Orono Park Commission proposed to conduct a <br />survey of the residents of Orono to asist the Park Commission in <br />long range planning. <br />At that time it was recommended to develop a questionaire to <br />be mailed to all residents by first class ;nail with a stamped, <br />self- addressed envelope for return of the questionaire. The <br />costs to accomplish this was estimated at $2,000 to $2,500. <br />The Council felt that the survey could be accomplished at a <br />lesser cost and directed staff to research the matter further. <br />The attached questionaire would be mailed out first class <br />but returned by way of Business Reply Mail (BRM). <br />The costs to accomplish this method is estimated at $1,500 <br />to $1,800. <br />RECOMMENDATION - To approve proceeding with the survey and to <br />authorize up to $1,800 of which monies will be used from the <br />General Fund Contingency. <br />PROPOSED MOTION: Moved by , seconded by , to approve <br />conducting a parks and recreation survey and to authorize up to <br />$1,800 of which monies will be used from the General Fund <br />Contingency.
