If changes in hardcover are proposed, you should do a "before" <br />worksheet and and "after" wc.,rksheet. If either results in percentages <br />greater than those allowed, contact City staff before proceeding with <br />your project planning! <br />HARDCOVER ORDINANCE - In 1975, the Orono City Council adopted an <br />ordinance limiting the percentage of lot area that can be covered with <br />impervious surfaces ("hardcover") such as roofs driveways, sidewalks, <br />etc. on properties located within 1,000 feet of a lake. Studies hav" <br />shown that sediments, oils, and debris carried into the lake fro. - <br />highly urbanized areas have a detrimental impact on the quality of <br />water in the lake.
