Mabusth, Building & Zoning Administrator <br />Date: September 28, 1988 <br />Subject: #1305 Washington Scientific, Inc. 2605 West Wayzata Boulevard <br />- Conditional Use Permit - Second Review <br />Please review your previous staff memo dated July 14, 1988 prepared <br />for your Jule Planning Commission meeting. The conditional use permit <br />involves the: temporary storage and filling and grading of approximately <br />10,000 cubic yards of fill from the recent excavation for the new addition <br />at the northwest corner of the existing structure. The City was advised <br />that the soils were poor and could not be used as replacement soils. The <br />Council granted permission to the applicant to stock -pile the excess soils <br />until the formal conditional use permit application was resolved. <br />At your July meeting, Planning Commission tabled the application <br />pending resolve of the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District permit. You may <br />remember that the City Engineer requested a 1/2 to 3/4 acre retention pond <br />to be installed at the southeast corner of the property to account for any <br />of the additional hardcover from the new addition -nd proposed filling and <br />grading along the west and south boundaries of the property. The City <br />required no hydraulic information dealing with facts on 100 year storm <br />event and the need for a specific retention area on the site. It appeared <br />that the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District was to ask for a more complete <br />review.
