(0.76 Acre)-excluding roads <br />112' to I 04' <br />Exhibit A -Resolution per Planning Commission recommendation <br />Exhibit B -PC Action Notice dated August 22, 2006 <br />Exhibit C -PC Memo & Exhibits of August 11 , 2006 <br />Application Summary: <br />John Holm & Susan Kerber received variances in 2004 in order to replace a rotted deck on the east (lake) <br />side of their home, add a covered entry porch on the west entrance and construct a 660 s .f. garage addition <br />to their existing home. Their home encroaches into the 30' side setback on both of the side lot lines , and in <br />order to construct the garage addition as proposed a side setback variance is requested. They have <br />constructed the deck but prior to obtaining permits for the garage and porch additions the variance approval <br />resolution expired . The applicants have applied for the following renewal variances: <br />1. A 75' -250 ' zone hardcover variance in order to construct a 2-stall garage over existing hardcover <br />(driveway); and <br />2. A side setback variance in order to construct a 2-stall garage IO ' from the side lot line where a 30 ' <br />setback is required and a 9 .9' setback is existing; and <br />3. A 75' -250' hardcover variance to construct a covered entrance over existing hardcover (grade- <br />level porch). <br />Planning Commission Recommendation <br />On August 21, 2006 , Planning Commission voted 4-0 to recommend approval of the variances . <br />Planning Staff Recommendation <br />Staff has been awaiting revised plans meeting the City Engineer's recommendations. At this time staff is <br />satisfied that the engineering issues can be addressed and has drafted language into the Resolution <br />requiring revised plans be submitted prior to issuance of a building permit. Therefore staff recommends <br />approval of the variances per the attached Resolution . <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED <br />Adopt or amend the attached Resolution .
