ORDINANCE NO. 239 <br />Section 3. Chapter 63 of the Municipal Code of the City of <br />Orono is hereby amended by amending Section 63.030 and by adding <br />Sections 63.031 and 63.032 to read as follows: <br />63.030 D29 License Duration. Dog licenses shall be issued and be <br />valid £or the whole or unexpired portion of two-year periods beginning <br />on January 1 of each odd -numbered year. All dog licenses regardless <br />of the date of issuance shall expire on December 31 of each even - <br />numbered year. Dog owners shall apply for license renewal prior to <br />the license expiration date. <br />63.031 Dog License Requirements. Not more than two dog licenses shall <br />be issued to any one person or for any one lot, property or address at <br />any one time unless there shall first have been issued a current <br />residential or commercial kennel license for said person, lot, property <br />or address. Dog licenses shall be issued by the City Clerk upon <br />presentation of the following: <br />a) Applicant's information including the dog owner's name, <br />address, mailing address and telephone number. <br />b) Description of dog including breed, color, sex and <br />name. <br />c) veterinarian's signed certificate identifying the dog and <br />attesting that the animal has been vaccinated for rabies <br />within six -months of the date of license application. <br />d) Payment of a dog license fee as setforth in Section 63.032. <br />63.032 Dog License Fees. Dog license fees shall be in the amount <br />prescribed in the current City fee schedule. The basic license fee <br />shall be for a license issued in odd -numbered years. Licenses issued <br />in even -numbered years shall be one-half of the basic fee amount. <br />License fees shall not otherwise be prorated. Licenses and License <br />fees are not transferrable to other owners or other dogs, and dog <br />license fees are not refundable. <br />Section 4. Chapter 63 of the Municipal Code of the City <br />of Orono is hereby amended by amending Section 63.180 and by adding <br />Sections 63.181, 63.182, 63.183, 63.184 and 63.185 to read as follows: <br />63.180 Kennel License iR uir^dd. It shall be unlawful for any person <br />to own, operate, use, maintain or allow to exist any kennel on <br />any property in the City without being licensed to do so according <br />to provisions of this Section. <br />a) It shall be unlawful for any personor persons to own, harbor <br />keep or house three or more dogs over six months of aqe on <br />any one lot or property without a valid residential or <br />commercial kennel license. <br />b) It shall be unlawful for any personor persons to operate any <br />kennel for business or commercial purposes including sale. <br />boarding, breeding, grooming, training or medical care <br />without a valid commercial kennel license. <br />
