S 9.12 <br />any one person or for any one lot, property or address at any one <br />time unless there shall first have been issued a current <br />residential or commercial kennel license for said person, lot, <br />property or address. <br />Subd. 5. Fees. All licenses and impounding fees <br />provided for in this Section shall be issued only upon payment in <br />full of fees fixed and determined in accordance with City Code <br />Section 1.05. License fees shall be due for the full two-year <br />license period except that licerses issued in even -numbered years <br />may be prorated to one-half of the two-year license fee. No other <br />prorating shall be permitted. <br />Subd. 6. Tag Required. All licensed dogs shall wear a <br />collar and have a tag firmly affixed thereto evidencing such <br />license for the current year. A duplicate for a lost tag may be <br />issued by the City upon presentation of the receipt showing the <br />payment of the license fee for the current license period, and <br />payment of the fee for a duplicate license. Tags shall not be <br />transferable, and no refund shall be made on any dog license fee <br />because of leaving the City or death of the dog hc9ore the <br />expiration,of the license. <br />Subd. 7. License Period. All dog licenses shall be <br />issued and be valid for the whole or unexpired portion of two year <br />periods beginning on January 1 of each odd -numbered year. All dog <br />licenses regardless of the date of issuance shall expire on <br />December 31 of each even -numbered year. Dog owners shall apply for <br />license renewal prior to the license expiration date. <br />Subd. 8. Notice of Impounding. Upon the impounding of <br />any dog, the owner shall be notified, or if the owner is unknown, <br />written notice shall be posted for five days at the City Hall <br />describing the dog and the place and time of taking. <br />Subd. 9. Release From Animal Pound. Dogs shall be <br />released to their owners, as follows: <br />A. If such dog is owned by a resident of the City, <br />after purchase of a license as aforesaid, and payment of the <br />impounding fees. <br />B. If such dog is <br />of the City, after immunization <br />payment of he impounding fee for <br />impounded. <br />owned by a person not a resident <br />of any such dog for rabies, and <br />the period for which the dog was <br />Subd. 10. Animal Pound. Any dog found in the City <br />without a tag, or animal running at large, shall be placed in the <br />Animal Pound, and an accurate record of the time of such placement <br />shall be kept on each animal.
