Studies have shown that sediments, oils, and dcLris carried in the lake <br />from highly -irbanized areas have a detrimental impact en the quality of water in the <br />lake. The intent of Orono's ordinance is to ensure that rainfall run-off wil l ba <br />cleansed by filtering through grassed or vegetated yard areas before entering the <br />lake. <br />B. HARDCOVER SETBACK ZONES - PERCENTAGE ALLOWED <br />I. 0-751: in the area within 75' of the lakeahore, No Harecover is allowed <br />II. 75-250's in the portion of the lot located between 75' and 250' from the <br />lake, 250 of that portion of the lot may be hardcovered. <br />III. 250-5001: in the portion of the lot located between 250' and 500' feet <br />from the lake 300 of that portion of the lot may be hardcovered. <br />IV. 500-1,000's in the portion of the lot located between 500' and 1,000' feet <br />from the lake 350 of that portion of the lot mry be hardcovered. <br />NOTE: These regulations apply -ven if you have a lot th-it does not abut the lake tut is <br />within a lakeahore zoning district. <br />C.
