CITY OF ORONO, MINNESOTA <br />MINUTES OF A PTA NNING COMMISSION MEETING HELD ON JUNE 26, 1978 <br />The Orono Planning Coriami s s i on met on the above <br />date with the following members present: Hurr, <br />acting chairwoman, McDonald, Frahm, Hr,mmerel, <br />and Wilson. Hassel will be late. <br />Hurr announced this was the ti e for a public <br />hearing for the Baker Park Reserve Road Vacation <br />application. Alan Olson, the City Planner, <br />stated he had the Affidavit of Publication and <br />Certificate of Mailing. Mr. Marr was present <br />to represent the Park Reserve District. A <br />neighbor, Mr.Laidlaw of 1195 Starkey Road, was <br />present. i`r. Marr showed the exact location <br />of the vacation. During the discussion, Mr. <br />Laidlaw had several comments regarding the <br />bike/hike -all, but did not object to the <br />road vacat in. Public Hearing closed at <br />7:50 P.M. Further discussion concerned the <br />possible moving of a gate to the property <br />line of Mr. Laidlaw, but he stated that would <br />not be a problem to him. The only thing <br />that could cause a problem would be people <br />parking their cars at the gate. Wilson <br />ATTENDANCE <br />7:30 P.M. <br />'BAKER PARK RESERVE <br />ROAD VACATION <br />(#386) <br />PUBLIC HEARING <br />7:30 P.M. <br />recommended approval of the vacation contingent <br />upon the park reserve providing a private ease- <br />ment for existing utility lines. Hammerel <br />seconded the motion. Vote: Ayes (4), Nays (0), <br />Abstained (1) McDonald. Mc Donald did not see <br />the public interest in vacating the road and <br />was concerned that the gate would be moved to <br />Mr._ Laidlaw's property line after the road vacation. <br />Hurr announced this was the time for a public <br />R. L. WENKSTERN <br />hearing on the Subdivision for R. L. Wenkstern. <br />645 North Arm Drive <br />Al Olson stated he had the Affidavit of <br />SUBDIVISION <br />Publication and Certificate of Mailing. The <br />(#383) <br />applicant was represented by Mr. Roger Reed <br />PUBLIC INFORMATION <br />his attorney. Mr. Reed stated that the <br />MEETING 7:52 P.M. <br />Owner is making arr-ingements to connect to <br />the sewer. It was discussed that by this <br />applicitiot, xn would just be increasing acreage <br />and not establishing a new construction site. <br />No public coTmntnts were heard. Diblic Hearing <br />was closed at 8:07 P.M. Al. -in Olson stated if <br />.:approved this could he handled by RLS as it is <br />now recorded. K)st of the discussion was retarding <br />whether to ha-�,e him comply with the two acres or <br />with connection to the sewer. <br />
