•'�. i� <br /> � O� , <br /> O O <br /> • ' z � CITY of ORONO <br /> � - .:.. � <br /> ti <br /> ��L �G'�' RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> �kESI304 NO. o� O � � <br /> A RESOLUTION APPROVIVG <br /> AMENDMENT#1 OF THE <br /> 2000-2020 CITY OF OROl`TO <br /> COMMUIVITY MANAGE`IENT PLAN <br /> �YHEREAS,the City of Orono is a municipal corporation located within Hennepin <br /> County and within the planning jurisdiction of the Metropolitan Council; and <br /> �VHEREAS, in accordance with the Metropolitan Land Planning Act of 1976 and <br /> its amendments, and with Minnesota Statutes Chapters 462 and 473,the City of Orono in November <br /> 2001 adopted a comprehensive municipal plan known as the 2000-2020 City of Orono Community <br /> Management Plan(also refened to as the 2000-2020 CMP)to provide for the orderly development <br /> of the City. An integral element of the 2000-2020 CMP is the Comprehensive Sewer Policy Plan, <br /> • which identifies certain areas of the City as being within the Metropolitan Urban Service Area <br /> (MLJSA) in which connections to the metropolitan sanitary se�ver system are allowed; and <br /> «�IEREAS,the City received a request from a property owner on Old Lonj Lake <br /> Road to provide municipal sewer to an existins property that is not buildable without municipal <br /> sewer. Subsequent review by the City indicated the potenrial need to construct municipal seR-er to <br /> serve an existinj neighborhood of eight developed lots in the RR-1B Zoning District, five of�-hich <br /> are substandard in area based on the 2-acre minimum lot size requirement of the RR-1 B District;and <br /> «'HEREAS, on January 13, 2003 the City Council voted 5-0 to direct that a <br /> Comprehensive Plan Amendment process be initiated to amend the MUSA as adopted in the 2000- <br /> 2020 CMP to incorporate certain Old Lon�Lake Road properties into the MUSA; and <br /> �i�IEREAS,pursuant to published and mailed le�al notice to the affected property <br /> owners, on February 19, 2003 the Plannin� Commission held a public hearing and subsequently <br /> recommended approval of the proposed CMP amendment: and <br /> «�EREAS, on February 24, 2003 the City Council voted 5-0 to conditionally <br /> approve 2000-20?0 CMP Amendment#1 adding certain properties along Old Long Lake Roa.d to <br /> the defined Metropolitan Urban Service Area subject to revie�v and comment by the Metropolitan <br /> Council; and <br /> • Pa�e 1 of 3 <br />
