OFFER TO PURCHASE THE MAPLE PLAIN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL SITE WHEREAS, Woods Academy Inc., on July 13, 1988, delivered to the School District notice of the exercise of the option to purchase the Maple Plain Elementary School site contained in the lease between the School District and Woods Academy, Inc.; and WHEREAS, the School District, on May 26, 1988, commenced an action to condemn the leasehold and all other interests of Woods Academy, Inc. in the Maple Plain Elementary School site; and WHEREAS, a hearing upon the School District's Petition for condemnation of the leasehold and all other interests of Woods Academy, Inc. was held before the Hennepin County District Court on June 30, 1988; and WHEREAS, the Hennepin County District Court by an Order dated July 13, 1988 granted the petition of the School District for the condemndtion of the leasehold and all other interests of Woods Academy, Inc. in the Maple Plain Elementary School site; and WHEREAS, the conditions of overcrowding in the schools of the District have ircreased since the School Board took action to authorize the condemnation action; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the School Board of Independent School District No. 278 as follows: 1. That the notification by Woods Academy, Inc. of the exercise of the option contained in the lease with the School District will be treated as an offer of purchase. 2. That the offer of purchase be rejected because of the immediate need of the School District to offer programs of O'40 education at the Maple Plain School site in the fall of 1988.
