Since none of the5o are <br />cubecription papers they do not necessarily get to every <br />household in the community. In the part tho City on a opo:adic <br />basis had also put out a newsletter, however the types of <br />LnLormation included 11 that plus the articles that have been <br />recently put in the paper have been of a general background <br />information nature and not one that addresses current events. <br />nISCUSSION - Types of information that Cities generally try to <br />communicate to their communities are as follows: <br />- Explanation of operations <br />- ordinance and ordinance changes <br />- Service information <br />- Programs and registration information <br />- Long term direction information <br />- Upcoming meetings and agendas <br />- Significant recent ev^nts <br />Certain types of this information are of a timeless nature and <br />when it is transmitte9 to the community it has not always been a <br />critical issue. There has ►--!n an indication however, on the <br />pact of the Council that they .%uld like to use this as a means <br />to engender more public participation in the process. To do <br />this would require a vehicle that would provide for timely <br />information on a regular basis. <br />A suggustic.n that way meet this would be a shcrt monthly ; <br />newsletter that would incorporate_ perhaps three items. <br />i <br />Recent counci� actions and other pertinent City <br />i <br />
