ORDINANCE NO, SECOND SERIES <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 4.17 OF ORDINANCE 32 OF THE SECOND <br />SERIES REGARDING PERMITTING THE CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOL BY MINORS. <br />The City Council of the City of Orono ordains: <br />Ordinance Chapter 4, Section 4.17, Subdivisionlq, adopted <br />March 17, 1987, and entitled "An Ordinance Relating to Intoxicating <br />and Non -Intoxicating Liquor, Licensing, and Regulation" is amended <br />to read: <br />It is unlawful for any person over the State established legal <br />drinking age who is present on and either owns, rents, resides <br />in, or is otherwise responsible for a premises to knowingly <br />permit or allow a person who has not attained the State established <br />legal drinking age to consume intoxicating liquor or intoxicating <br />or non -intoxicating malt liquor in any quantity for any purpose on <br />such premises, unless in the household of the person's parent or <br />legal guardian and with the consent of the parent or guardian. <br />It shall be incumbent upon the person(s) responsible for such <br />premises to ascertain the ages of all individuals who are on the <br />premises and who are allow,;d or permitted to consume intoxicating <br />liquor or non -intoxicating or intoxicating malt liquor. <br />This ordinance becomes effective upon adoption and publication. cn <br />Adopted by the City Council of the City of Orono on the llth day <br />of July, 1988 by a vote of ayes and __ nays. <br />r ATTEST <br />-k <br />Mayor, City of Orono <br />
