ORDINANCE NO. <br />SECOND SF:RIF;S <br />AN CRDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 4.17 OF ORDINANCE 32 OF THE SECOND <br />SERIES REGARDING PERMITTING THE CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOL BY MINORS. <br />The City Council of the City of Orono ordains: Ordinance <br />Chapter 4, Section 4.17, adopted March 17, 1987, and-ntitled "An <br />Ordinance Relating to Intoxicating and Non-Intoxicat..ig Liquor, <br />Licensing, and Regulation" is amended by adding a new subdivision <br />19 which reads as follows: <br />Subd. 19. The following terms, as used in this <br />subdivision, shall have the following meaning: <br />a. "Person responsible" mans a person who owns, rents, <br />resides on, or inhabits a premises. <br />b. "Minor" means a person under the state establisl:Pd <br />drinking age as defined in this Chapter. <br />C. "Premises" means any vacant land or any structure. <br />d. "Liquor" means intoxicating liquor or <br />non -intoxicating malt liquor. <br />A person responsible for a premises who is present thereon must <br />determine whether any individual on the premises possessing, <br />consuming, or intending to consume liquor is a minor. A person <br />responsible who is present on the premises may not knowingly allow <br />the consumption of liquor by a minor. This subdivision does not <br />prohibit a person responsible who is the parent or guardian of a <br />minor from consenting to the consumption of liquor by the minor in <br />the household of the parent or guard an. <br />This ordinance becomes effective upon adoption and <br />publication on _ <br />Adopted by the City Council of the City of Orono on the day <br />of July, 1988 by a vote of ayes and nays. <br />Mayor, City of Oron-) <br />ATTEP- <br />rot y M.
