Proposed Contract for 1989 <br />B. 1987-88 Assessing Contract Memo Dated 8/6/87 <br />IS_S_U_E_ - Determination as to whether the City wants to renew its <br />contract at the rate proposed by Mr. Erickson. <br />IN_TR_O_DU_CTIO_N_ - Since 1984 the City has contracted with Rolf <br />Erickson for assessing services. As noted in Attachment B the <br />City originally saved money with improved service. <br />DI_S_CUSSION - The services provided by Rolf are projected to go up <br />8% because of the eAtensive number of calls that were handled <br />this year on Board of Review and that are anticipated to be <br />handled next year. It is anticipated that the City will be in <br />better shape regarding the Board of Review next year as the <br />Assessors are able to get further ahead of the work yet this <br />summer. <br />ALTERNATIVES - <br />1. Renew the contract as presented <br />2. Negotiate for alternative contract amount <br />3. Undertake negotiations with the County regarding the <br />possibility of converting over to their system for assessing <br />4. Table <br />RECOMMENDATION - It is recommended that the City continue its <br />services for assessing with Rolf Erickson as the staff feels that <br />an excellent job is being done by that firm as the contractor has <br />a very good understanding of the wide variety of properties that <br />need to be dealt with in this city and at a price that is not out <br />of line with what the City would Day elsewhere. <br />PROPOSED MOTION - Moved by , seconded by _, that the Council <br />approve contracting with Rolf_Erickson for the contracting period <br />from 1 August 1988 to 31 July 1989.
