8488. 2 <br />C0URN C11 I N G <br />UG 8 <br />T. iJi:�� <br />TO: Mayor and City Council OF �" : • �, <br />ff <br />FROM: Mark Bernhardson, City Administrate <br />DATE: August 2, 1988 <br />SUBJRCT: Orono/Long Lake Discussions <br />ISSUE_ - Establishment of dates for the discussion between Orono <br />and Long Lake. <br />INTRODUCTION - During the past two weeks I have been working with <br />the facilitator and Arlo Vande Vegte of long Lake in <br />establishment of the appropriate dates for the discussions. <br />DISCUSSION _ - As a preparatory step to the joint facilitation <br />meeting, Barbara Arney would like to meet with each of <br />Councilmembers from both communities on an individual basis for <br />approximately 20 minutes each. These are presently scheduled to <br />be held between 4:00 and 8:00 P.M. on Monday, August 29, 1988. <br />Please contact me if this presents a problerr, for any of you. <br />Subsequent to that a joint meeting will then be held on Thursday, <br />September 15, 1988, to focus on the issue of the Long Lake sewer <br />plant property. Location for the meetings will be established at <br />a later date as will times for the individual meetings. <br />ALTERNATIVES - <br />1. Establish the dates proposed <br />2. Modify the dates <br />3. Table <br />RECOMMENDATION - It is recommended that the Council establish <br />August 29, 1988 as an individual discussion meeting between the <br />facilitator and each of the members of the Council together with <br />Thursday, September 15, 1988 for the facilitated discussion on <br />the sewer plant property. <br />PROPOSED MOTION - Moved by , seconded by , the Council <br />established August 29, 1988 as an individual d scussion meeting <br />between the facilitator and each of the members of the :ouncil <br />together with Thursday, September 15, 1988 for the facilitated <br />discussion on the sewer plant property.
