72088.8 <br />A RESOLUTION ADOPTING A MANDATORY <br />ODD/EVEN WATERING BAN OUTDOORS <br />REGARDLESS OF SOURCE OF SUPPLY THROUGHOUT THE COMMUNITY <br />WHEREAS, the City of Orono has a significant ongoing <br />concern regarding its water resources; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Orono has reflected that concern in <br />its adoption of Ordinance __, of the Second Series as an <br />amendment to the code Section 9.36; and <br />WHEREAS, the precipitation for 1988 is significantly <br />below normal as was 1987; and <br />WHEREAS, recent rains have helped alleviate some of the <br />concern, however, there is still a substantial concern for the <br />longterm situation. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that in accordance with <br />Ordinance , Second Series the Orono City Council adopts a <br />mandatory odd/even watering ban outdoors regardless of source of <br />supply throughout the community to be in effect until further <br />notice. The exception to this ban is use of water for seeded and <br />sodded lawns as outlined in Ordinance Section 5. <br />Adopted by the Orono City Council on this 25th day of <br />July, 1988. <br />------------------------------------ <br />James R.
