Draft Newspaper Article <br />ISSUE - Presentation of information regarding water conservation efforts to <br />date. <br />INTRODUCTION - At the Counci l's June 27th, 1988 meeting, they <br />directed <br />ir ct d <br />staff to undertake various voluntaryefforts to <br />the issues of water conservation. <br />DISCUSSION - As noted in Attachment A, the article has been distributed to <br />the local newspapers and will also be included in the Mayor's article. <br />The staff is intending to bring back a recommendation regarding further <br />regulatory steps it may take at the July 25th, 1988 Council meeting. <br />ALTERNATIVES - <br />1. Accept information. <br />2. Amend and accept. <br />3. Direct alternatives to staff action. <br />4. Table for further discussion. <br />RECOMMENDATION - It is recommended that the Council accept the information <br />realizing that staff is working on further regulatory means for Council <br />consideration at its July 25th, 1988 meeting. <br />PROPOSED MOTION - Moved by , seconded by _, that the Council accept the <br />-information regarding efforts to gain voluntary compliance with <br />conservation.
