6888.4 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION NO. 10.61 <br />ADOPTED APRIL 1, 1984, AND ENTITLED 'SPECIAL PROVISIONS' <br />The City Council of the City of Orono ordains: <br />Section 10.61 adopted April 1, 1984 and entitled <br />"Special. Provisions" is amended to read: <br />Subd. 1. <br />A. On <br />Right-0f-!4ciy. <br />Private signs are prohibited <br />within the public right-of-way or <br />easements except that <br />the <br />Council may <br />grant a <br />conditional use permit to locate signs <br />and <br />decoration, <br />on or <br />within the <br />right-of-way under their <br />jurisdiction <br />for a s-:�ci.fied <br />time not to exceed ninety days. <br />No <br />conditional <br />use pe: <br />for such a <br />sign shall be issued by <br />the <br />Council if a <br />coedit <br />i use permit <br />or temporary sign permit <br />had <br />been issued in the p..=-vious <br />24 months <br />to that property. <br />H. Temporary Signs. There shall be no more than <br />one temporary (three months or less) sign in any required yard <br />area, and there shall be no more than three such signs on any <br />lot, and the total area of such signs shall not exceed 25 square <br />feet. Such signs require a temporary sign permit from the City. <br />No such permit shall be issued by the City it a conditional use <br />permit under Sub -paragraph A of this Subdivision or a temporary <br />sign permit under this sub -paragraph had been issued in the <br />previous 24 months to that property. No such signs shall be <br />allowed in residential zones. <br />This ordinance becomes effective from and after its <br />passage and publication on 1988. <br />------------------------------- <br />James-R.
