MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ORONO COUNCIL MEETING HELD MARCH 30, 1987 <br />HALL STUDY CONTINUED <br />City Council accepted the Administrator's information <br />on facilities consultant selection and tabled the matter <br />until the April 27, 1987 Council meeting. <br />NAVARRE <br />REDEVELOPMENT TASK FORCE <br />City Administrator Bernhardson stated that he addressed <br />the Westonka Chamber meeting on February 16, 1987 in <br />hopes of generating some interest on the part of <br />business people and property owners in the Navarre area <br />to serve on a task force to develop goals and objectives <br />for the Navarre area. He stated that he has not <br />received any response from that marketing effort other <br />than interest indicated by letter from Pastor Mulligan <br />of Grace Baptist Church, a resident who has had <br />experience in reaevelopment and a non -Orono resident who <br />frequently travels through Navarre. <br />Councilmember Sime stated that there seemed to be a <br />complete lack of interest by the businesses and without <br />their support, he found no reason to proceed. <br />Mayor Grabek felt a compromise could be accomplished in <br />order to uphold the value of the City. <br />Councilmember Goetten felt it would behoove the City to <br />work on possible redevelopment. <br />Council recommended that staff continuo to solicit <br />support for a Task Force to undertake the goals and <br />objectives portion of the Navarre Redevelopment Study. <br />1987-88 ADMINISTRATOR'S GOAL SBTTING/EVALUATION <br />City Administrator Bernhardson reviewed the <br />Administrator's 1987-1988 Goal Setting 6 Performance <br />Evaluation. <br />Council accepted the various documents from the <br />Administrator and tabled the 1987/88 Gcal setting <br />together with Council discussion of the Administrator's <br />second year performance until the April 27, 1987 <br />Council meeting. <br />1986 POLICE OPERATIONS REPORT <br />City Administrator Bernhardson reviewed the 1986 Police <br />Department Financial and Operations Report. <br />It was moved by Mayor Grabek, seconded by Councilmember <br />Peterson, to accept the information regarding the 1986 <br />Police Operations together with crediting 1986 <br />underexpenditures to the 1987 billings for they co^tract <br />cities. Motion, Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />12 <br />
