Mark Peterson is the caretaker. We intend to hire a part- <br />time person to help Mark Peterson when the camp is open. we <br />are also establishing a roster of volunteers for camp main- <br />tenance and visitor registration at the island. <br />The telephone number at the camp is 474-1958. This will also <br />serve as our emergency telephone. We are currently eval- <br />uating actions for additional phone service but we feel that <br />the present phone is adequate for near term operations. <br />5. Garbage and trash will be retained in the fenced garbage area <br />shown on site plan. It will be held in covered garbage cans <br />and carried to the mainland a few at a time each time our <br />ferry goes to the mainland. Once a week we will make a special <br />trip to the mainland to dispose of any and all remaining <br />garbage. <br />6. Control of the number of visitors will ")e accomplished as <br />follows: <br />A. Big Island Veterans Camp is not open to the public. <br />It is privately owned by the veterans of Minnesota. By <br />state statute only veterans, veterans' families, widows, <br />orphans, veterans groups, veteran -supported charities or <br />other veteran -related activities .nay use the camp. <br />
