AGENDA ITEM <br />Date: September 8, 2025 <br />Title: LA25-000031, 650 Brown Road North, Variances - Resolution 7618 <br />Presenter: Matt Karney, Planner <br />Section: Consent Agenda <br />Item: 7 <br />Purpose: <br />The applicant requests an average lakeshore setback variance to construct a building addition to <br />the existing residence. <br />2. MN§15.99 Application Deadline: <br />The application was made on July 10, 2025 and deemed complete on August 5, 2025. The 60-day <br />review period is to expire on October 4, 2025. <br />3. Background: <br />The owner/applicant proposes a second -story addition to the existing residence, within the average <br />lakeshore setback. This setback bisects the house, and was reestablished following the construction <br />of a new home on the adjacent property to the north. The addition maintains an approximately <br />290-foot setback from the OHWL, however, the addition encroaches 13 feet lakeward of the <br />average lakeshore setback. <br />Link to Planning Commission packet. (Application Materials Found Here) <br />4. Planning Commission Vote and Comment: <br />On August 18, 2025, the Planning Commission held a public hearing and discussed the requested <br />variance. Following the public hearing, the Commission voted 6-0 to recommend approval of the <br />variances as recommended by staff. <br />Link to Planning Commission video. <br />5. Public Comment: <br />No public comments have been received. <br />6.
