Gerhardson, Public Works Director <br />DATE: June 8, 1988 <br />SUBJ: Resident Survey - Parks and Recreation <br />Recently, the Orono Park Commission determined that in order to <br />assist them in long and short term Planning of Parks and <br />Recreation in Orono, it would be very he 1 E fu i to determine the <br />needs of the community. <br />To accomplish this, the Park Commission is requesting funding to <br />perform a survey of the needs of the community. <br />They have drafted a questionnaire (see attached) to be mailed to <br />each household in Orono. <br />Costs for copying, mailing and return mail are estimated at <br />$2,500. <br />Recommendation - To approve p:.oceeding with the su.L-�ey to <br />determine Parks and Recreation needs for the City of Orono and to <br />authorize up to $2,500 of which monies will be used from the <br />General Fund Contingency. <br />PROPOSED MOTION: __moved, seconded, *.-) approve conducting a <br />survey to determine the Parks and Recreation reeds for the City <br />of Orono and to authorize spending up to $2,500 of which monies <br />will be used from the General Fund Contingency.
