1? � ♦ <br /> ORDINANCE No. 248 <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CfIAPTERS 40 AND 42 OF <br /> THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF ORONO RELATING TO <br /> INTOkICATING AND NOh-INTOXICATING <br /> MALT LIQUOR LICENSES <br /> The City Council of Orono Ordains: <br /> Section 1 <br /> Chapter 40 of the Municipal Code of the City of Orono, <br /> Sections 40 .020, 40 .025 and 40 .030 are amended to read <br /> as follows: <br /> 40 .020 - Location and Operation <br /> (a ) The municipal liquor store shall be located at such suitable <br /> place in the City as the Council determines by motion. However , <br /> no premises upon which taxes or other public levies are 6elinquent <br /> shall be leased for municipal liquor store purposes. <br /> (b) The municipal liquor store shall be in the immediate charge <br /> of a liquor store manager selected by the Council and compensated <br /> as determined by Council. The liquor store manager shall furnish <br /> a surety bond in a sum to be specified by the Council, conditioned <br /> upon the faithful discharge of his duties. The bond premium may <br /> be paid by the manager or the City, at the discretion of the <br /> City. The manager shall operate the municipal liquor store under <br /> Council direction and shall be responsible to the Council for the <br /> conduct of the store, which conducr shall be in full compliance <br /> with this Chapter and the statutory regulations relating to the <br /> sale cf intoxicating and non-intoxicating malt liquor . The <br /> Council may appoint , at its discretion, additional employees to <br /> work in the nunicipal liquor store at a fixed compensation <br /> determined by the Council . Such additional employees may be <br /> required by the Council to furnish surety bonds conditioned upon <br /> the faithful discharge of their duties, in sums to be specified by <br /> the Council. Minors shall not be allowed to work in the municipal <br /> liquor store. All employees of the municipal liquor store, <br /> including the manager, shall hold their positions at the pleasure <br /> of the Council. <br />
