. � ' �. �': _ . Reach - a hydraulic engineering term to describe a longitudinal segment of a stream or river influenced by a natural or manmade obstruction. In an urban area, the segment of a stream or river between two consecutive bridge crossings would most typically constitute a reach. � Re�ional Flood - a flood which is representative of large floods known to have occurred generally in Minnesota and reasonably characteristic of what can be expected to occur on an average-frequency in the magnitude of the 100 year recurrence interval. Regional flood is synonymous with the term base flood used in the - Flood Insurance Study. Structure - anything,or part thereof, which is built, constructed or erected, an edifice or building of any kind, or any piece of work artificially � built up or composed of parts joined together in some definite manner, which requires a location on, below, or above the ground, land, or water. Wetlands or Marshland - lowlands covered with shallow and sometimes temporary or intermittent waters and also identifiable by wetlands vegetation and soil types. Wetlands Vegetation Z`ypes - including, but not li.mited to, �bulrushes, cattails, arrowhead, � sedges, marsh grasses as identi- fied by Hennepin Soil and Water Conservation District and/or Circular 39 of the United States Department of the Interior, Fish and Wildlife Service. Wetlands Soil Types - including, but not limited to, Marsh (Ma) , Peat and Peaty Muck (Pa, Pm) Lake Beaches (Lc, Ld) , Hamel (Ha) , . and Glencoe (Gc) as identified and classified by the Hennepin Soil and Water Conservation District and/or Circular 39 of the United States Department of the Interior, Fish and Wildlife Service. -5- .
