. � ' <br /> �. �': _ <br /> . <br /> Reach - a hydraulic engineering term to describe a <br /> longitudinal segment of a stream or river <br /> influenced by a natural or manmade obstruction. <br /> In an urban area, the segment of a stream or <br /> river between two consecutive bridge crossings <br /> would most typically constitute a reach. <br /> � <br /> Re�ional Flood - a flood which is representative of <br /> large floods known to have occurred <br /> generally in Minnesota and reasonably <br /> characteristic of what can be expected <br /> to occur on an average-frequency in <br /> the magnitude of the 100 year recurrence <br /> interval. Regional flood is synonymous <br /> with the term base flood used in the <br /> - Flood Insurance Study. <br /> Structure - anything,or part thereof, which is built, <br /> constructed or erected, an edifice or building <br /> of any kind, or any piece of work artificially <br /> � built up or composed of parts joined together <br /> in some definite manner, which requires a <br /> location on, below, or above the ground, land, <br /> or water. <br /> Wetlands or Marshland - lowlands covered with shallow and <br /> sometimes temporary or intermittent <br /> waters and also identifiable by <br /> wetlands vegetation and soil types. <br /> Wetlands Vegetation Z`ypes - including, but not li.mited to, <br /> �bulrushes, cattails, arrowhead, <br /> � sedges, marsh grasses as identi- <br /> fied by Hennepin Soil and Water <br /> Conservation District and/or <br /> Circular 39 of the United States <br /> Department of the Interior, Fish <br /> and Wildlife Service. <br /> Wetlands Soil Types - including, but not limited to, Marsh <br /> (Ma) , Peat and Peaty Muck (Pa, Pm) <br /> Lake Beaches (Lc, Ld) , Hamel (Ha) , <br /> . and Glencoe (Gc) as identified and <br /> classified by the Hennepin Soil and <br /> Water Conservation District and/or <br /> Circular 39 of the United States <br /> Department of the Interior, Fish and <br /> Wildlife Service. <br /> -5- . <br />
