The speeifications for an Approved Water Heating Installation under this <br /> rate are as follows: <br /> a. The water heater shall be equipped with no more than two heating <br /> elements. Each heating element shall be noninductive, thermostatically <br /> operated and designed for 240 volts. <br /> b. For a water heater equipped with two heating elements: <br /> The tank size shall be not less than 40 gallons; the rating of either <br /> heating element shall not exceed 5500 watts; and, if the total of the <br /> ratings of the two elements exceeds 5500 watts, the elements shall be <br /> so interlocked that they cannot operate simultaneously. <br /> c. For a water heater equipped with one heating element: <br /> The tank size and the rating of the heating element for each tank size <br /> shall be as follows: <br /> Tank Size Heating Element <br /> in Gallons Rating in Watts <br /> 30 3 500 <br /> 50 5 500 <br /> 80 5 500 <br /> d.
