August 79 1979
On duly 26, 1979 Nike oaffrbn and myself met on Lot 2, Bloch
1, The Nursery at the new Al Frodendahl residence. We discussed
the location of the new drainfield since the proposed area had '
been filled with black dirt. We were also concerned with the water
table which mooned to fluctuate greatly in the springtime.
I dug another soil boring to check on the water table and to
determine the depth of the fill material. It appears that about
two feet of fill were placed over the original ground. The water
table was reached at a little over six feet deep from the orig-
inal ground surface. Discoloration of the soil at five feet indi-
oated that the water table is at that depth in wetter seasons.
Because of the fluctuating wateir table in this area it is re-
commended that shallow trenches be used. Such trenches should be
placed six inches to a foot deep in natural soil and covered by a
foot of loam material. Thus, if the original proposed area is used,
a foot of the current loam fill would have to be removed. Care must
also be taken to avoid the Low gas main which was installed thro-
ugh the proposed drainfield area.
All construction should adhere to the requirements of the
Orono on -site sewage treatment manual for shallow trench systems.
If there are any questions, please contact me.
Min jflj
U I@ sincerely,
WG 0 19
FSRCOR, INC.
CITY Of ORONO
cos Steiner do Koppleman,Ino. ?lark S. dronberg,P.
Nike daffrot
