OFFICE OF THE MAYOR <br />CITY OF EXCELSIOR <br />3J9 THIRD STREET <br />EXCELSIOR, MINNESOTA 55331 <br />TELE: 612-474.5233 <br />May 9, 1988 <br />TO: LMCD Mayors <br />% <br />FROM: Mayors Jim O1's, Ruth Sherman & Larry Donlin <br />SUBJECT: Resolution Supporting the LMCD <br />Enclosed you will find a copy of a resolution we are asking you <br />to bring to your respective Council., for approval and to then <br />forward to the LMCD office. <br />Recent Metropolitan Council reviews of LMCD actions since 1986 <br />show serious dissatisfaction. LMCD is perceived as unresponsive, <br />procrastinating, and unwilling to implement planned activities. <br />So serious is this concern, that they are considering re- <br />commending the Governor declare Lake Minnetonka a "critical" <br />area. Such action would usurp municipal planning and permitting <br />ordinances. <br />It is important that you take action immediately because within <br />thirty days the issue will again come up for review and action. <br />Thank you for your attention.
