City Attorney,Memo Dated 5/20/88 <br />ISSUE <br />1. Receipt of information regarding Building Board of <br />Appeals process. <br />2. Receipt of information regarding appointment of <br />local Building Code Board of Appeals. <br />INTRODUCTION - At the Council's May 9, 1988 meeting, Trinity <br />Lutheran Church raised the issue regarding a variance to the <br />Building Code as it relates to the sprinkler requirement. In <br />response to Counci 1's request for information as to the process <br />and City authority in the matter, Attachment A is provided. <br />The Building Inspector has contacted five individuals regarding <br />appointment to the Board. Upon receipt of resumes from these <br />individuals, the staff will submit a recommendation regarding <br />appointment to the Board. <br />To date, the Church has not submitted an alternative to the code <br />or a request to appeal the Building Official's decision. <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />Issue 1.
