Carlton, Chairman of the Big Island <br />Veterans' Camp (hereinafter "the applicant") has an interest in the <br />property located on Big Island, Lake Minnetonka within the City of <br />Orono (hereinafter "City") and legally desc-ibed as follows: <br />Government Lot One (1), Section Fourteen (14), 'Township <br />One Hundred Seventeen (117), Range Twenty -Three (23); and <br />Government Lot Two (2), Section Twenty -Three (23), Township <br />One Hundred Seventeen (117), Range Twenty -Three (23); a.id <br />That part of Government Lot Three (3), Section Twenty -Threw <br />(23), Township One hundred Seventeen (117), Range Twenty -Three <br />(23), commencing at the Northeast corner of said Government <br />Lot Three (3), Section Twenty -Three (23); thence Southwesterly <br />along the lake shore to the Northeast corner of Lot A, Morse <br />Island'Park; thence South 350 feet-. to Lake Minnetonka; then <br />East along the shore of Lake Minnetonka to the East line of s <br />Lot Three (3); thence Northto the dace of beginning,. <br />WHEREAS, the applicant has applied to 'Lhe "ity of Orono for <br />a Conditional Use Permit to permit the temporary overnight camping of <br />workers involved in the clean up of the property per Municipal Zoning <br />Code Section 10.31, Subdivision 3 (D). <br />Minnesota: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Orono, <br />FINDINGS <br />1. This application was reviewed as Zoninc File #1014. <br />2. The property is located in the RS, Seasonal Recreationa� <br />Zoning District. <br />3. On April 21, 1986, the Orono lanning Commission reviewed the <br />application as amended and recommended approval based on one or <br />more of the following findings: <br />A) The property consists of 57 acres and can provide <br />adequate . amping area for a crew of 57 workers.
