CITY of ORONO
August 9, 2002
Tom Kellogg, City Engineer
Street Address:
2750 Kelley Parkway
Orono, MN 55356
Bonestroo, Rosene, Anderlik & Associates
2335 West Hwy 36
St. Paul, MN 55113
RE: Land Alteration Permit/Conditional Use Permit
2180 Abingdon Way
Dear Tom:
Municipal Offices
Mailing Address:
P.O. Box 66
Crystal Bay, MN 55323-0066
Please review the following plans for a land alteration/soil correction project. The property owners
are proposing to construct a tennis court on the property. The soil conditions are poor in the location
on the property where the court is proposed to be located. Construction requires dredging of a
portion of the soil and depositing new "better" soil from another portion of the property in that area.
In all 1,040 s.f. of land alteration would be occurring on the property. Some of the dredged soil
would be relocated to the property located to the north of this site (2150 Abingdon Way). This lot is
an undeveloped property and is commonly owned with 2180 Abingdon Way. An additional 120 _··
yards is proposed to be transported off the properties. ·
I apologize for the last minute delivery of these plans as I did not have the plans until after you had
left on vacation. If possible, please provide comments on these plans by Wednesday, August 14th as
the item is being heard by the Planning Commission on August 19, 2002. Do not hesitate to contact
me at (952) 249-4623 should you have any questions or request additional information.
Sincerely,
·~~ vJ-tA~•x'}H'
Paul Weinberger
Zoning Administrator
Telephone (952) 249-4600 • Fax (952) 249-4616
www.ci.orono.mn.us
