`✓s � , <br /> ���� Ci.t� o� ORONO <br /> i d ��� <br /> ;.:;;ri, <br /> ' ,. <br /> RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> �'�?`` NO. 13 3 6 <br /> � �/h <br /> • �'k <br /> • • • • k RECOGNIZING THE NAME DAKOTA AVENUE FOR A <br /> CERTAIN STREET IN ORONO AND CHANGING THE <br /> NAME OF ANOTHER STREET FROM DAKOTA AVENUE <br /> _ TO AN EXTENSION OF LONG LAKE BOULEVARD <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council has been made aware of a confusing <br /> situation wherein two separate street names and number series are <br /> being used by the ten homeowners residing on one short cul de sac <br /> street; and <br /> � WHEREAS in accordance with Plinnesota Statutes 412 . 221 Subd. 18, <br /> and Chapter 26 of the Orono Municipal Code, it is the duty and <br /> responsibility of the City to provide a simple, uniform and consistent <br /> street riaming and addressing system to assure general public conv�nience <br /> and in particular to assure prompt response to any emergency in the <br /> vicinity; and � <br /> WHEREAS, the City Planner, Public Works Coordinator and Police <br /> Chief have recommended a consistent street name and address number system <br /> • to assure th� general public health, safety and welfare, which system <br /> also requires the least individual disruption from existing address <br /> useage; and <br /> WHEREAS, each affected homeowner individually and as a member <br /> of the neighborhood has had the opportunity to discuss and to cast a <br /> straw ballot for a desired name for the subject street. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the <br /> City of Orono hereby orders the following changes in the street naming <br /> and numbering system: <br /> 1) The dedicated street and cul de sac located within <br /> the plat of Johnston' s Rearrangemen� of Albee' s <br /> Long Lake Addition, Section 26, T�wnship 118, Range <br /> 23, City of Orono, �County of Hennepin, originally <br /> platted as Sumac Lane, shall henceforth be known <br /> as DAKOTA AVENUE. • <br /> 2) Al1 properties having frontage on and primary access <br /> from DAKOTA AVENUE shall be assigned the following <br /> house numbers and addresses, which shall be the only <br /> addresses used for official records and for rural <br /> route mailing purposes: (all in the plat of Johnston' s <br /> Rearrangement of Albee' s Long Lake Addition) : <br /> , � <br />
