Backups within the system <br />have occurred during peak rainfall events resulting in the need for emergency <br />pumping into tank trucks to prevent sewage o,:urflows into Lake Minnetonka. <br />The project area has been under study since 1979. It has been determined that <br />extraneous flows cannot be further reduced cost effectively. The Interceptor <br />Lystem is therefore being upgraded in capacity to convey peak present and <br />projected future flows. <br />The 14WCC - Orono Interceptor Improvement Projece. consists o: the construction <br />of 4,900 lineal feet of 18" to 21" diameter reinforced concrete pipe sanitary <br />sewer; 9,500 lineal feet of 6' to 16" diameter ductile iron: pipe force main; <br />the renovation, construction, or removal of lift stations at 7 sites; and the <br />restoration of disturbed highways and properties. <br />Ninety percent (901) of the construction activity will occur withiL. the <br />right-of-way of County Roads 84, 51, and 19 all indicated on :enclosure No. 1. <br />The remaining 1OZ of construction activity will occur upon Private properties <br />adjacent to :he right-of-way. <br />load closures will occur on County Roads 51 and :9 where indicated on enclo- <br />sure No. 2. The road closures will not occur simultaneo-isly as the project is <br />being constructed in 2 stages. Stage 1 consists of pipe placement and resto- <br />ration nlcng County Roads 84 and 51 to County Road 19. S•:age 2 consists of <br />)ipe plec:ement along Count. Road 19 to a point approximately 1,000 feet north <br />A Count; Road 15. All work of phase 1 must be completed !)rior to commence - <br />Bent of work on phase 2.
