As a result
of the excavation of the lakesnore yard, the upper tear of the existing
block retaining wall would be removed. The applicant proposed redoing the
lower tear adjacent to the lakeshore. The application was denied, finding
no adaquate hardship to allow the excavation of the lakeshore protected
area. Applicant was advised to move the house back further. Note, this
application involves the construction of a new residence, there is no
attempt to use the foundation of existing residence. Applicant was advised
that there was adaquate room to the rear of the property to create the
walkout design. The application was unanimously denied by the Planning
Commission.
March Meeting c,f the Planning Commission
Applicant prrsented 7 revised plan to the Planning Commission that now
sought to rerlace the existing retaining walls within the lakeshore yard
and approval of a Conditional Use Peri-it and Variance for an underground
drainage ti:.e that would serve to drain the bowl area now created by the
higher elevations lakeside of the patio walkout area. Review Exhibit M
and V. Note that a berm prevents drainage to flow down the lakeshore. It
necessary to provide a release for the drainage retention trapped in
l area in order to prevent flooding of the lower level of the residence.
light of recent actions and recommendations of both Planning Commission
,r,-] Council, the underground drainage pipe was denied. The portion of the
application that would have allowed the replacement of the lakeshore
retaining walls damaged in the July storm was approved by the Planning
Comimission.
