The applicant chose not to proceed at that time and the approvals
expired. The current proposal is only moderately different than what was approved in 2009.
The applicant is requesting CUP approval to import approximately 2,267 cubic yards of fill in order to restore
the grade of the property. A new residence is not proposed at this time, the existing garage has been
removed and the property owner proposes to remove a portion of the existing blacktop driveway as shown.
Approximately half of the necessary fill material is already on site. Administrative permits were granted in July
for 3165 North Shore Drive and the applicant's home property at 1420 Bohns Point allowing the applicant to
bring 1,000 cubic yards of material (500 cubic yards to each property) made available from a new home under
construction at 1910 Shoreline Drive.
Planning Commission Recommendation
On August 19, 2013 the Planning Commission voted 6 to 0 to recommend approval of the CUP as requested.
Planning Staff Recommendation
Staff recommends approval consistent with the City Engineer's continued oversight.
COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED
The City Council should consider adopting or amending the att ched resolution for approval.
