Wednesday, March 17, 2010 <br /> I learned today The Emily Program's Director Dr. Dijrk Miller is withdrawing his application to <br /> purchase the historic Hill School to open a 10-bed res'dential eating disorders program. <br /> Notwithstanding some of the comments in the medi , the Emily Program itself was never the <br /> issue for our City Council. Orono's approach from the beginning was to try to accommodate <br /> both the Emily Program and protect the neighborh od. The neighborhood's concerns were <br /> primarily the intensification of use at the site and what happens with the building after the Emily <br /> Program leaves. In that effort, we reviewed the application with an eye toward compliance with <br /> our zoning ordinance. <br /> Now that Dr. Miller has decided to move on we will too.
