CITY OF ORONO <br />RESOLUTION SUPPORTING CONSTRUCTION OF <br />COUNTY ROAD N116 <br />WHEREAS, the western portions of Hennepin County have experienced significant <br />population growth and development in the recent past and are expected to continue <br />to do so in the future; and <br />WHEREAS, there exist an inadequate number of north -south arterial roadways <br />in the area to accommodate present and future growth; and <br />WHEREAS, the comprehensive plans of bath the City of Medina and Hennepin <br />County have long shown the completion of County Road 0116 from T.H. 55 to <br />T.H. 12; and <br />WHEREAS, the proposed alignment of County Road 1116 is the most practical <br />route for a north -south arterial in the area; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Medina has requested Hennepin County to place the <br />completion of County Road 1116 on its five year capital improvement plan and <br />to proceed with the project as quickly as possible; and <br />WHEREAS, all communities In western Hennepin County will benefit from the <br />prompt completion of the project. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Orono that the City of <br />Orono be on record in support of the completion of Hennepin Ccunty #116 from <br />T.M. 55 to T.H. 12. <br />am <br />ATTEST: <br />
