Resolution #1921 - Appointment Authority <br />Dated 2/10/86 <br />B. Sections 291 to 293 Orono Personnel Rules <br />C. Kllbo Letter Dated 3/31/88 <br />ISSUE - Determination as to whether Council wants to revise or <br />modify the termination of the probationary period for Kurt <br />Erickson. <br />Based on the recommendation of Chief Kilbo, I am terminating the <br />probationary status of Lt. Erickson and that he will be placed in <br />the position of Patrol Officer effective April 15, 1988. The <br />appointment was made in October of 1986 and extended In October <br />1987 through the end of March 1988. <br />DISCUSSION - As noted within the personnel rules a probationary <br />period can be terminated by the appointing authority and as noted <br />in Attachment A such authority was granted to the Administrator <br />subject to revision or modification at the next regular Council <br />meeting. This probation and revocation will not have a bearing <br />on his future promotional abilities. <br />ALTERNATIVES - <br />1. Accept <br />2. Amend and accept <br />3. Table <br />4. Remove proh,,tionary statue leaving the person as a <br />Lieutenant. <br />5. Repeal authority granted in Resolution #1921 <br />RECOMMENDATION - It is recommended that the Council not revise or <br />akiend_the termination of probation. <br />PROPOSED MOTION - Moved by _, seconded by , that the Council <br />not revise or modify the Administrator's determination in this <br />matter.
