MINJTES OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING HELD NOVEMBER 16, 1987 <br />11223 !4ALDRON CONTINUED <br />It was moved by Bellows, seconded by Brown, to recommend <br />denial of the proposed grading cuts to create a walkout <br />and recommend that applicant submit a revised proposal <br />for grading in order to repair and maintain his <br />lakeshore bank; and recommend approval of the lakeshore <br />deck proposal near the house as proposed conditioned <br />upon concurrent removal of the 9'x 14' deck at the edge <br />of the slope, resulting in a net increase of 37 s.f. of <br />0-75' hardcover - per staff recommendation. Motion, <br />Ayes 4, Nays 0, Abstention 1. Hanson abstained. <br />#1224 MINNETONKA BOAT WORKS <br />1449 SHORELINE DRIVE <br />AFTER -THE -FACT CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT/VARIANCE <br />PUBLIC HEARING 10:08-10:12 <br />The Affidavit of Publication and Certificate of Mailing <br />were noted. <br />Byron Heimark was present for this matter. <br />Mabusth explained the after -the -fact conditional use <br />permit/variance request for upgrading and expansion of <br />the boat lift at Minnetonka Boat Works. The Orono <br />facility will service 3 of the larger boats currently <br />stored at the Wayzata facility. Council conceptually <br />approved the request at their November 9th meeting. <br />Bellows asked why the Orono facility must store the <br />larger boats at this point? <br />Byron Heimark explained that the Orono facility needed <br />to replace their boat lift with a safer style which are <br />wider than the old style; and with the remodeling of the <br />Wayzata ficility, they can no longer store the larger <br />boats and meet the parking requirements. <br />There were no comments from the public regarding this <br />matter and the public hearing was c-osed. <br />It was moved by <br />recommend approval <br />Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />a <br />Bellows, seconded by Johnson, to <br />per staff recommendation.
