MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ORONO COUNCIL MEETING HELD MARCH 14, 1988 <br />ADDITIONAL INFORMATION <br />Regarding the issue of legislative activity of the <br />Hennepin County Park Board in relation to taking over <br />the imminent domain proceedings, Councilmember Callahan <br />suggested that the City officially express its position <br />to their members of legislature. <br />LICENSES* <br />Mayor Grabek felt this was a good idea. <br />Councilmember Goetten stated she has talked with State <br />Representative John Burger and Vern Peterson of the <br />Association of Metropolitan Municipalities (AMM), and <br />also with the League of Minnesota Cities; and has <br />learned that this was a specific issue that passed <br />regarding the Regional Park in Minnestrista only and <br />will not carry over to anything any other City will do. <br />She felt it was important to provide a directive <br />regardi.rg Oiono's strong feelings in this issue. <br />Councilmember Goetten clarified for Council that the <br />legislature passed the issue of asking the legislature <br />to agree to override Minnetrista's veto regarding the <br />regional park there. <br />Acting City Administrator Gerhardson stated he spoke <br />with Senator Gen Olson today and he presented Council <br />with information sent by Senator Olson regarding this <br />matter. <br />Council will review the material from Senator Olson and <br />contact City staff with their directional input. <br />It was moved by Councilmember Sime, seconded by <br />Councilmember Peterson, to approve the following <br />licenses: <br />On -Sale Non-Intoxicatinq Mali Liquor Licenses - <br />Lakeview Golf of Orono, Inc. <br />City of Orono Golf Course <br />Cigarette License - <br />Orono Golf Course <br />Special Events License - <br />Easy Race VIII - The Bank Wayzata <br />One-half marathon <br />Sunday, April 24, 1988 9-11 AM <br />Residential Kennel License - <br />Shannon Brogan, 2240 W.
