NORTH SHORE. TAKES FIFTh AT STATE. <br />The North Shore Gymnastics Association's Class IV Team <br />finished fifth in the United States Gymnastics Federa- <br />tion State Meet held in Forest Lake on Sunday, February <br />7rh, with a score of 95.20. <br />NSGA won individual honors in each of four age divisions. <br />In the 9 year old age group, Megan Owen from Mound placed <br />Sth on beam and 10th all around. Brittany Simpson of <br />Orono, placed 4th on bars in the 10 year old divlsion. <br />captured the first place title on beam and floor exercise <br />as well as a second place finish in the all around. <br />In the 11 year old division. Amy Hite of Orono, placed <br />9th on bars, 6th on floor, and 9th in the all around. <br />Placing in the 12 year and older division was Becky Wat- <br />son of Orono, with a 4th on floor, 9th on beam, loth on <br />bars and 9th in the all around. Also placing in the 12 <br />year and over age group was Kim Brown of Orono. who cap- <br />tured that state title on beam and finished 7th in the <br />all around. Becky Moonen of Delano, placed 4th on the <br />bars. beam and all around. <br />North Shore is proud of each of these girlfi as well as <br />the remaining six girls who qualified for State competi- <br />tion by scoring at least 27.00 points all around in any <br />of the three qualifying meets. These gymnasts are: <br />Amee Whittaker and Jessie May from Delano; Hilary Rose, <br />Nikkie Maresh, Erin Regan and Stephanie Endsley of Orono; <br />and Marco Schreiner of Wavzata. Other members of the <br />NSGA team are: Hillary Sentell, Annie Roderick, Whitney <br />Lundman, Carrie .tanzen and Danielle Kullberg. <br />The girls will travel to Nebraska for theft next mjet, <br />and finish the season with three of the gymnasts compet- <br />ing in the Munchkin Class IV Meet. Those competitors <br />will be Jenny Cook, Justine Sarinfar and Stephanie Lind. <br />SPRING REGISTRATION AT NORTH SHORE GYMNASTICS <br />North Shore Gymnastics Association (NSGA) will be holding <br />registration for their spring program Wednesday, March 2 <br />and Monday, March 7 from ;:00-9:00 p.m, in the cafeteria <br />of the Orono Middle School. <br />NSGA's spring session will begin Arch 1. and run for <br />eleven weeks with a one week Spring break. Classes to <br />be offered are for the eighteen month old tumbler through <br />to the adult seeking exercise in adult aerobics. The <br />addition of the extensLcn facility at 2105 Daniels Street <br />In Long Lake has increased the number of class times of - <br />fared to meet anv s hedule. Pre%chool and aerobic classes <br />are available in the morning as well as the evening. <br />NSGA offers quality in:.tructiun at affordable prices, with <br />a low student to cnach ratio. Choose from Low Impact aerobics or High <br />Energy fitness. <br />North Shore Aerobics Low Impact and High Energy classes <br />work the entire body, (using the five key components of <br />health related physical fitness that you need to be con- <br />cerned with; cardlorespiratory endurance, muscular <br />strength and endurance, flexibility and weight control) <br />for long term fitness success. These are one hour <br />classes. <br />Low Impact - if you have avoided aerobic exercise be- <br />cause of no time, no energy and no desire to undergo <br />the jumping and jarring involved, then Low Impact aer- <br />obics is for you. Movements are safe and easy to learn <br />while helping you to lose weight and improve your fit- <br />ness level. The workout begins with a warm-up that <br />leads into the aerobic section, finishing with .oning <br />exercises and a cool down -relaxation segment. <br />High Energy - This is designed for the intermediate to <br />advanced exerciser. it is a complete fitness workout, <br />beginning with a warm-up that leads into "power sculp- <br />turing exercises," jumping rope and an .aerobic section. <br />The second half of the workout In a cal -aerobic circuit, <br />that places an aerobic station between each calisthenic <br />exercise, finishing with a cool down -relaxation segment. <br />North Shore Aerobics is the name, fitness is the gage. <br />Come join in on the fun!
