County 15 Memo Dated 11/17/87 <br />B. County 15 Memo Dated 12/9/87 <br />C. Memo Regarding Decorative Street Lighting <br />ISSUES - <br />1. Determination as to the type of lighting the City <br />would like have on County Road 15. <br />2. Information regarding the process for bonding for <br />costs for the project. <br />3. Information regarding the net estimated costs. <br />4. Determination as to method for financing the <br />project. <br />INTRODUCTION - At the December 3, 1987 Council meeting the <br />recommendation was that the County 15 project generally be <br />financed as follows: <br />- General tax funds - $218,000, Special Assessments <br />$126,000 and Storm Sewer establishment of a storm sewer <br />district - $84,000. At the time the staff also <br />indicated that it would be looking at the costs of an <br />improvement in street lighting. <br />The City has in the interim discussed r;hether it would be more <br />advantageous to bond for the costs of this project than to <br />finance it internally. In addition the City has received better <br />right-of-way estimates, which has been reduced from $162,000 to <br />about $135,000. The numbers however at this point are still <br />estimates and subject to cha-:ge. The bids have been received and <br />the apparent low bidder is approximately 6% under the estimate <br />given the City. <br />DISCUSSION - <br />Issue #1 - Street Lighting <br />A.) The current project anticipates relocation and/or <br />replacement of th,? present lights standards which <br />currently are affixed to the electrical poles. <br />E.) As noted in Attachment C NSP submitted a proposal <br />that would have more extensive street lighting and <br />
