Box 598 <br />Excelsior, MN 55331 <br />Affairs <br />Attention: Mr. William Gregg - Commissioner <br />Subject: Notice of Planned partial Sale - Big Island Veteran's Camp <br />Dear Mr. Gregg: <br />Pursuant to the provisions of M.S. 1 <br />Bi Island Veterans Camp hereby gives <br />so a of the Camp real property. By a <br />Board authorized to offer for sale <br />property. Depending on the terms of <br />may be sold If proceeds are adequate. <br />all offers. <br />197.133, the Board of Governors of the <br />statutory notice of a planned ppartial <br />majority vote on 20 January 1988. the <br />a maximum of 15 acres of the Camp <br />a particular offer, less than 15 acres <br />The Board reserves the right to reject <br />Proceeds from the partial sale will be used to complete renovation and <br />development of the remaining tract of approximately 45 acres. It 1s the <br />Board's position that M.S. 1197.133 requirements for transfer of proceeds of <br />a sale to a trust account apply only to a total disposal of the Camp <br />property. If a buyer can be located, a plan which sets forth the proposed <br />uses of funds that are de-i ved from the sale will be developed and submitted <br />for your roview. <br />This notice is given prior to the start of the February 1988 legislative <br />session. Your prompt action in advertising pursuant to M.S. 1 197.133 is <br />essential to identify interested governmental agencies. It is requested that <br />your office assist in negotiating acreage and price with any governmental <br />agency that expresses an intent to purchase. <br />It should be noted that this partial sale is a revenue -producing action on <br />the part of the Board and does not evidence any Intent to liquidate the <br />Veterans Camp property. Camp re -opening for day and tent camping is planned <br />for early summer of 1988 4nd can be accomplished without receiving proceeds <br />from the proposed sale.
