. ` Cit� of ORONO <br /> � RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> NO. /�. �O <br /> • <br /> • - • • <br /> TAX FORFEIT LANDS RETAINED FOR <br /> PUBLIC USE BY THE CITY OF ORONO <br /> �dHEREAS, the City of Orono is a municipal corporation <br /> organized and existing under the laws of the State of P�Iinnesota; and <br /> �•�HEREAS, pursuant to rlinnesota Statute 2�2 , the City has <br /> received from Hennepin County a list of. lands within the City which <br /> have become the pPOperty of the State of Minnesota for non-nayment of <br /> real estate taxes; and <br /> Tr1HEREAS , the Hennenin County Board of Commissior_ers have <br /> classified said lands as non-conservation land and have authorized <br /> the sale of each such parcel of land subject to review and release <br /> by the City; and _ <br /> WHEREAS , the City Council has reviewed said lands for <br /> compliance with local zoning ordinances , for the amount of outstanding <br /> � special assessments remaining unpaid to the City, and/or for possible <br /> public use by the City as authorized by the statutes , <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Cit�� Council of <br /> the City of Orono, pursuant to Minnesota Statute Section 282 . Q1, <br /> Subdivision l, hereby applies to the Hennepin County Board of Commissioners <br /> and to the Com�-nissioner of Revenue for conveyance Of the following tax <br /> forfeited lands to the City for roadway, park and recreation purnoses. <br /> The City Council hereby states that such lands are substandard or otherwise <br /> unsuitable fcr private use and that there is a need and justifiable public <br /> purpose for said lands to be conveyed to the City because open, travelled <br /> public roads exist across both parcels.
