MINUTES OF THE REGULAR OROYJO COUNCIL MEETING HELD JANUARY 11, 1988 <br />REQUEST TO HIRE TEMPORARY CLERICAL HRLP - <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />Councilmel*'ar Peterson requested clarification as to why <br />City Almir.Lstrator Bern;iardson is recommending approval <br />for temporary clerical l.elp not to exceed 80 hours when <br />only approximately 20 hours are being requested. She <br />also asked if temporary clerical help would be an on- <br />going need for the Police Department? <br />City Administrator Bernhardson explained that the <br />request is for approximately 20 hours needed at this <br />time :ind on -cal`l summer hours as necessary. He is <br />recommendingl 80 hours as a cap for the entire year. <br />Regarding the reed for on -going temporary clerical help, <br />he stated he is working to prevent it. <br />.t was moved by Councilmember Peterson, seconded by <br />Mayor Gra bek, that the Orono City Council autâ–º,orize the <br />hiring rf Jean hoogenakker as a temporary Clerk -typist <br />at a rate of $6.00 per hour, with no other benefits, for <br />a per+.od not to exceed 120 work days during )_988 nor a <br />total of $500 during the year. Motion, Ayes 4, Nays 0. <br />ADMINISTRAIvJW S INFORMATION* <br />It was moved by Councilmember Sime, seconded by <br />Councilmember Callahan, to accept the Administrator's <br />Information regarding: 200 Hollander Road, Westlake <br />Street, 3405 Shoreline Drive, Metro Goose Hunt, 1535 <br />Bohns Point Road, Art Center Status, 4220 Sixth Avenue <br />North, 1250 South Brown Road, Big Island Veterans Camp, <br />and Goal Setting Status. Motion, Ayes 4, Nays 0. <br />CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT: <br />City Attorney Blatz thanked the Council, City <br />Administrator Bernhardson, and staff for the opportunity <br />to work with Orono's rural local government finding it <br />was one of the more enjoyable experiences within her <br />profession. <br />LICENSES* <br />BILLS* <br />It was moved by Councilmember Sime, seconded by <br />Councilmember Callahan, to approve the following <br />license: <br />Cigarette License - Washington Scientific <br />(vending machine) 2605 Wayzata Blvd. <br />Motion, Ayes 4, Nays 0. <br />It was moved by Councilmember Sime, seconded by <br />Councilmember Callahan, to approve payment of the All <br />Funds Accounts.
