During the 1`88-1989 Energy Assistance Program, the following <br />assistance was rP:eived by residents of Suburban Hennepin County <br />through WHHS. <br />* 3,886 Suburban Hennepin households (this is 10,403 individuals) <br />applied for heatirg assistance from our program. <br />* $1,104,8A of heating grants was distributed �o Suburban Hennepin <br />residents. <br />* In addition 124 households participated in Partners, a <br />comprehensive, coordinated energy crisis program <br />Emergency Services <br />WHHS received Hennepin County funds for emergency food, shelter, <br />clothing and transportation services. The program is delivered in <br />cooperation with Interchurch Community Association, Interfaith <br />Outreach, St. Louis Park Emergency Program and Westonka Christian <br />Services as well as Home Free Shelter, Sojourner Shelter and 12 area <br />police departments. In 1988, a total of $90,912 served 4,058 West <br />Hennepin residents with food, 256 with shelter and 1,265 with <br />clothing. <br />Energy Conservation Program <br />We provide the Project AIF./House Doctor (weatherization and audit <br />program) and Home Energy Check-up Programs in 11 suburban cities. As <br />part of these, we also have four Community Energy Councils to provide <br />input. This is funded by Utilities and the State of Minnesota. We <br />are in the process of adding five cities. <br />Directory of Services <br />We published our mini -directory of human services. 40,000 copies were <br />printed through a donation from Twin West Chamber of Commerce <br />Foundation. We publish two combination directories and how to guides: <br />"Basic Tools: A Survival Skills Guide for the Unemployed and <br />Underemployed" and "home Sweet Home: A Guide to Help Find Affordable <br />Housing." We also publish a directory for clients of our Energy <br />Assistance Program and one for our Emergency Services Program. <br />Information and Referral <br />we do an average of about 100 information and referral calls per <br />month. <br />Community H ae lth <br />Annually we prepare a report on community health needs and provide <br />advice to the Hennepin County Community Health AdvisoC'^�^�^��*�� ry <br />
