He i.s <br />requesting that the City of Orono take ownership of Lot 5, <br />Bergquists and Wicklunds Addition (PID 07--117-23 23 0013) for <br />park purposes. This lot adjoins property that the church owns in <br />the City of Orono. He stated the property is for sale over the <br />counter at Hennepin County for $20,000. When asked why the <br />church does not purchase the property, he stated that the church <br />is not in a financial position to purchase tt. Droperty. The <br />church would not be able to meet payments tha County will <br />accept over a 10 year period. He stated that use as a City <br />owned park would be consistent with their property. They <br />currently have a ball diamond and parking area on the adjacent <br />lot, on the north side of this let. <br />This property was released for public sale on Resolution 41046 <br />dated June 12, 1979.
