AGENDA ITEM <br />Date: August 5, 2025 <br />Title: Tree Lightning <br />Presenter: Joe Ruthenberg, Superintendent - Parks, Facilities <br />Section: Staff Report <br />Item: <br />Purpose: <br />To form a sub -committee to help plan and fund raise for the Tree Lighting event at the Orono Oaks <br />Golf Course. <br />2. Background: <br />The City of Orono has been hosting an annual tree lightning. This free event has included live music, <br />food and drinks for sale, hot chocolate, fireworks, and a visit from Santa. <br />3. Funding: <br />$10,000 was allocated in the 2025 Parks General Fund <br />4. Park Commission Action Requested: <br />Vote to appoint park commission members (up to 3) to assist with the planning, fundraising and <br />coordination of the annual tree lighting event. <br />50 <br />
