Larger Projects and Improvements <br />•Bederwood Playground border/edging needs to be replaced, wood or upgraded to <br />concrete. <br />•Old wood picnic tables are aging and need to eventually be replaced. Some people have <br />varying opinions on metal-coated picnic tables, but some are showing wear, and a <br />replacement plan should be in place. <br />•Added benches were a need at some of the parks, including Hackberry, Saga Hill, and <br />replacements were needed at Bederwood and Seven Nations. <br />•Painting, or replacement of gates at various lake access points. <br />•Grading improvements at parking areas. <br />•Repair fence footing damaged from snow and ice heaving at Bederwood. <br />•Add irrigation to the baseball field. (Funds to come from Orono Baseball. <br />•Bederwood Playground is still usable but reaching the end of its equipment life. <br />(Replacement was budgeted for the 2026 CIP.) <br />•Replacement of Stubbs Bay Dock. <br />•Add dock ramp to the Casco Point Beach dock. <br />•Permanent recycling and trash cans at parks and beaches. <br />8
