Minutes Park Commission Regular Meeting Tuesday, May 6, 2025, 6:00 PM City Council Chambers 2780 Kelley Parkway, Orono, MN 55356 Page 2 of 2 CHAIR AND COMMISSIONERS’ REPORTS 4. Park Commissioner Assignments Roath led the Commissioners in a discussion of assignments for Commissioners, dividing up about 25 park spaces for members of the Park Commission to visit regularly and report any needs. Urgent needs should be reported directly to City Staff while larger, non-urgent items should be reported to the chair for future budget consideration. The Commission discussed the focus document for 2025 along with the seven focus areas that were established last year after the Commission’s goalsetting session and possibly making adjustments or adding a couple of more focus areas. The focus areas have sub committees of the Park Commission. Roath moved, Huddy seconded, to add developing a trail along North Arm Drive as a subcommittee focus area. VOTE: Ayes 7, Nays 0. Roath moved, Reynolds seconded, to add a guiding document subcommittee as a focus area. VOTE: Ayes 7, Nays 0. Roath moved, Carswell seconded to add a focus group subcommittee on the Mayor’s Monarch Pledge. VOTE: Ayes, 7, Nays 0. Roath moved, Carswell seconded to move the North Arm Trail under the Trails Subcommittee. VOTE: Ayes, 7, Nays 0. New Commissioners shared their interests and priorities. Commissioners discussed the Park Commission meeting schedule which consists of four formal and six work sessions each year. Continuing Commissioners welcomed the new members.
